Book Runner, an Instagram-based second hand book service, enjoyed popular success during the depths of lockdown. With a strong base of social media supporters and customers the business has reached growth capacity. Studio TunTun were engaged to expand, extend and consolidate a range of assets and outcomes for Book Runner Melbourne.
Building on Steve Gavan’s charming illustrated mascot, we created excitable, playful identity.This second hand book retailer, is uniquely positioned as inviting and friendly with a sophisticated, modular structure to its design. An expanded illustration set and retro colour pops lend Book Runner’s design and tone of voice a sense of reliability in its service, and approachability in nature.
Moving the business forward required a digital approach with a strong integration with Instagram, while managing payments and inventory. Book Runner’s design effectively addresses difficult navigation challenges with unique search functions and accessible categories and genres - allowing users to ascertain their product in an efficient and understandable manner.
